Purpose:
The Production Manager position reports to the Director Remote Operations and will be responsible for managing Versant Sports production projects in any of the three areas:
On‑site, home base and studio.
- Serve as an effective communication link between Remote Operations Management and Production teams.
- Coordinate with arena, stadium, or location personnel regarding mobile unit arrival times, access, and event schedules.
- Manage key logistical elements including generator and equipment needs, internet access, credentials, compound setup, security, catering, ground transportation, flight and hotel adjustments, and crew logs. Oversee hiring and coordinate with payroll to ensure timely payment of support crews.
- Work closely with Production, Talent, and the show’s Technical Manager to ensure seamless execution of live events.
- Collaborate with the Technical Manager and external vendors on specialty camera setups and other technical requirements.
- Manage the production budget in partnership with the show’s Producer and Finance team, ensuring all expenses are tracked, approved, and paid in a timely manner.
- Draft, execute, and distribute the Production Memo, detailing all show logistics and operational plans.
- Coordinate all travel logistics for traveling crew, including booking flights, rental cars, and hotel accommodations.
- When in‑studio, manage the crew schedule for studio shows and provide day‑to‑day support for Production and Talent, working closely with studio Technical Managers.
- Identify, hire, and evaluate production support staff, including PAs, runners, spotters, stage managers, makeup artists, and statisticians.
- Primarily support Golf productions, with flexibility to contribute to other Versant Sports properties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working on a production or related projects.
- Proven understanding of the production process (start to finish) involved in Sports Television.
- Proven understanding and competency of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven knowledge of equipment and the equipment process as well as all procedures that are needed for various production projects.
- Must have a proven ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the internal organization and with those outside of the organization.
- Must be willing to learn internal systems.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
- Must be willing to accomplish tasks independently and timely.
- Willingness to travel, work late and across weekends, at times with short notice.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to handle multiple production projects at one time.
- Must be flexible with last‑minute assignments as well as assignment changes.
- Able to effectively and quickly solve problems and handle stressful and time sensitive situations during the production process.
