Job Title: Estimator – Water, Fire Mitigation & Construction

Location: Norwalk, CT

Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Inside Estimator to join a restoration and construction team specializing in water, fire, and mold mitigation. You’ll play a key role in reviewing documentation, preparing estimates, and managing claims for both residential and commercial projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for mitigation, restoration, and construction projects
  • Review field documentation, including scopes, sketches, and photos
  • Use Xactimate, Xact Analysis, Cotality, MICA, and Docu Sketch for estimating and documentation
  • Submit proposals and bids, and generate supplements and change orders as needed
  • Communicate with project managers, insurance reps, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure estimates meet client and third-party program guidelines
  • Support the billing process and maintain accurate job file documentation
  • Visit job sites for large losses or as required
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24-hour emergency services
What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5 years of experience in restoration or construction estimating
  • Familiarity with insurance claims processes and project documentation
  • Strong knowledge of Xactimate and Cotality software
  • IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT/OCT, AMRT) a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects at once
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts)
  • On-call rotation (typically one week per month or every 6 weeks)
