Job Title: Estimator – Water, Fire Mitigation & Construction
Location: Norwalk, CT
Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)
About the RoleWe’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Inside Estimator to join a restoration and construction team specializing in water, fire, and mold mitigation. You’ll play a key role in reviewing documentation, preparing estimates, and managing claims for both residential and commercial projects.

What You’ll Do- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for mitigation, restoration, and construction projects
- Review field documentation, including scopes, sketches, and photos
- Use Xactimate, Xact Analysis, Cotality, MICA, and Docu Sketch for estimating and documentation
- Submit proposals and bids, and generate supplements and change orders as needed
- Communicate with project managers, insurance reps, and other stakeholders
- Ensure estimates meet client and third-party program guidelines
- Support the billing process and maintain accurate job file documentation
- Visit job sites for large losses or as required
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24-hour emergency services
- 3–5 years of experience in restoration or construction estimating
- Familiarity with insurance claims processes and project documentation
- Strong knowledge of Xactimate and Cotality software
- IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT/OCT, AMRT) a plus
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at once
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
- Must be able to pass a background check
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Full-time, Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts)
- On-call rotation (typically one week per month or every 6 weeks)
