Principal Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic Theater Creative Director for our exciting summer musical theater program for children, Summer Dance Theater, Session
2. This program culminates in a live performance of Frozen KIDS, providing young artists with an enriching experience in theater, dance, and music. The Creative Director will teach classes during the program, lead rehearsals, and oversee all creative aspects of the production. The production is licensed through MTI, and the Creative Director will be provided with the Show Kit and all materials.

The Creative Director will work closely with other members of the Performing Arts team who will support the implementation and execution of the program and creative vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Artistic Leadership: Lead the creative direction for daily activities and culminating production of Frozen KIDS, ensuring a cohesive and inspiring experience for participants.
  • Teaching: Serve as lead instructor for classes throughout the program.
  • Rehearsals: Direct daily rehearsals, ensuring that each child is engaged, supported, and learning essential performance skills.
  • Production: Oversee and manage the production of Frozen KIDS, leading all technical elements (light and sound) and design elements (set, props, and costumes).
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Inspire and mentor children throughout the process, fostering creativity, teamwork, and a positive learning environment.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the Performing Arts team who will support all administration of the program including scheduling, logistics, and parent & staff communication.
  • Safety & Well-being: Ensure that the creative process and rehearsals are conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in directing musical theater, especially with children or young performers.
  • Strong background in theater arts, including extensive knowledge of acting, singing, and choreography.

  • Proficient in effectively managing a classroom and fostering a supportive environment.
