Long-Term Substitute Teacher Position

This assignment is expected to continue for more than 60 days. We are seeking a certified candidate. If you are not currently certified in CT but hold a Bachelor's degree and 12 credits in the content area to be taught, we will apply to the CSDE for Long-Term Substitute Authorization.

Certification Requirements

Certified teachers in Connecticut are required. Uncertified candidates with the specified degree and credits will be considered for Long-Term Substitute Authorization.

Compensation
  • Uncertified: $175.00 per day
  • Certified: $200.00 per day

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 credits in the content area for un‑certified candidates.
  • Certification in Connecticut.
  • Dual certification in TESOL, Bilingual Education, or ESL preferred, especially with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English.
Required Application Documents
  • A cover letter outlining your interest and qualifications.
  • A current resume.
  • Two (2) or more letters of reference dated within the last two years. External candidates may submit a letter from either a current or recent supervisor.

The filling of this position is based upon continued funding in the Board of Education budget.
