Middle School, Special Education Teacher
Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy (BCHA), a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 independent Jewish day school located in Stamford, Connecticut, is seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle/High School Hebrew Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year.

BCHA’s Hebrew program emphasizes communicative language acquisition, proficiency-based instruction, and a deep connection to Israeli culture and Jewish identity. Teachers are supported through ongoing coaching, collaboration, and professional development opportunities within a dynamic and dedicated Hebrew department.
ResponsibilitiesTeach Hebrew language and culture to middle and/or high school students.
Create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that support language acquisition and proficiency growth.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success.
Integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction.
Contribute positively to the school community and participate in ongoing professional learning.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Hebrew, Jewish Studies, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
Native-level fluency in Hebrew.
Knowledge of second language acquisition and the challenges associated with language learning.
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, diverse learning styles, and effective instructional strategies.
Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, colleagues, and families.
Ability to engage and inspire students in a positive and supportive learning environment.
Experience integrating technology into instruction.
Experience with proficiency-based instruction, ACTFL standards, and the Bishvil HaIvrit curriculum is highly desirable.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
