Spanish Teacher

Excellence Community Schools (ECS) is a Charter Management Organization (CMO) supporting schools in the Bronx, NY and Stamford, CT. Our programs are based on a proven, nationally recognized model that originated at our flagship school, the Bronx Charter School for Excellence, a National Blue Ribbon School.

Our schools prepare young scholars to compete for admission to and succeed in top public, private, and parochial high schools by cultivating their intellectual, artistic, social, emotional, and ethical development. We accomplish this by offering a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum, which at the earliest of grades has an eye towards college preparation. To achieve this, our schools create a supportive and caring environment that at all times has high expectations of all students.

We offer a differentiated, project-based learning environment that seeks to develop high-level analytic and critical thinking skills in all of our students. Our engaging and rigorous approach to educating our scholars is implemented by a collaborative team of teachers.

We are currently seeking a Spanish Teacher. The ideal Spanish Teacher candidate will bring a passion for the mission of Excellence Community School, an understanding and respect for various cultures, and a passion for working in an urban school setting that fosters a love for children.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards.
  • Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards.
  • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions.
  • Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior.
  • Be accountable for students' mastery of academic standards.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • At least 1 year of Spanish Teacher experience is required.
  • Connecticut State Certification in Spanish required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: ($53,235- $118,163). Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
