Salary: Stipend per the SEA Contract.

General Statement: The Specialized Reading Team Leader position is one in which the assigned teacher takes on the lead role in their building to evaluate student progress in their specialized reading classes on an ongoing basis throughout the school year. This individual is responsible for reviewing newly identified students in special education, determining if they require additional reading instruction, and assisting the school-based team in planning to do so.

This position also is tasked with inputting data generated by the BOY, MOY, and EOY assessments into tracking documents, scoring assessments, and attending meetings when available with the K-12 Literacy Specialist to promote fidelity in the implementation of the Specialized Reading programs throughout the district. At the middle school level, this position is responsible for administering and analyzing data generated by screeners for transition from 5th to 6th grade for placement in the middle school.

Please Note: This position may be split between two or more individuals if there is mutual agreement among the individuals involved and the building administration.

Note: Teachers dually certified in TESOL, Bilingual Education or ESL, with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English, will be given preference for all Stamford Public School positions.
