GENERAL STATEMENT

The School Based After School Tutor program provides after-school academic assistance to help their academic needs in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The tutor(s) will be responsible for providing small group tutoring in specific subject areas for students who need additional help. They will work in conjunction with theafter-school academic assistance program.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To tutor students in academic subject areas.
  • To work with the program administrator.
  • Contact the classroom teacher about student progress and assistance when necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with the targeted population of high school aged students. An understanding of working with diverse student populations with limited resources
  • Ability to work after the school day.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across a broad range of people.
  • Strong communication skills verbally and written.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to assist students in meet reporting deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Secondary Connecticut Teaching Certificate (7-12) in English, Math, Social Studies or Science.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Passionate about working with students
  • Demonstrated expertise in differentiated instruction and meeting individual needs.
SALARY

As per SEA current teacher’s contract
