Sound Engineer

This role is focused on providing expert audio engineering support for an audiobook narration project, specifically ensuring that a home studio setup in Stamford, CT meets the technical requirements of  The successful candidate will work on-site to calibrate equipment, match sound levels between microphone and earphones, and set the noise floor to industry standards. The project involves collaborating with a highly experienced voice actor and coach who is returning to audiobook narration and requires professional assistance to optimize the recording environment for high-quality voiceover production.

• On-site assessment and calibration of home studio audio equipment
• Adjustment of microphone and earphone levels to achieve optimal sound balance
• Configuration of noise floor to meet  standards for audiobook narration
• Documentation of setup process and recommended settings for future reference
• Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to audio quality

• Proven experience as an audio engineer, with a strong background in audiobook or voiceover production
• In-depth knowledge of  technical requirements, including noise floor standards
• Proficiency with studio equipment, microphones, headphones, and audio interfaces
• Ability to work on-site in Stamford, CT
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering professional-grade audio
