We are seeking a skilled Temporary Geologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will conduct vital geologic and environmental investigations as well as support various projects nationwide.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute geological and environmental investigations with precision.
- Conduct drilling and logging operations for complex projects.
- Log soil and rock cores, creating detailed boring logs in accordance with ASTM/USCS standards.
- Collect and manage environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory analysis.
- Install and maintain groundwater monitoring wells and necessary instrumentation.
- Prepare thorough technical field notes, logs, and documentation.
- Participate in project progress meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor s Degree in Geology or related field.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
- PG (Professional Geologist) License.
- Knowledge of Unified Soil Classification System for accurate logging.
- Current 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification with latest annual refresher training.
- 8-hour supervisory training completed.
- 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class accredited.
- Current CPR/FA/AED certification.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a federal background check.
- Ability to successfully pass a medical examination.
- Comfortable working in field settings, including extended standing, walking, or sitting periods.
- Proficient in soil and rock logging, as well as well installations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA/HAZWOPER and environmental standards.
- Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and GIS/software skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Federal project experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, adept at engaging with military clients, contractors, and government teams.
- Good interpersonal abilities for building relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Capable of working independently in field conditions with minimal supervision.
