As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
How You'll Make an Impact- Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
- Contain, manage and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) assembly facilities, warehouses or customers globally.
- Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
- Assist with process improvements.
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
- Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
- Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances
Required:
- Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO
9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines. - Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
- Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
- Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
- Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
