Summary
The TRIMEDX Biomedical Engineering Intern will receive on‑the‑job training by shadowing experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management. The role involves understanding the typical day of an engineer and how to work in a hospital environment, responding to service calls, balancing workload, documenting repairs and preventative maintenance (PM) work orders, vendor management, calibrating equipment, troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance procedures, ensuring electrical safety, and repairing equipment.
The intern will perform preventative maintenance procedures, inventory validation, and work alongside experienced technicians in a real‑time service environment.
- Shadow experienced clinical, biomedical, lab, and radiology engineers under close supervision.
- Understand the typical engineering workflow in a hospital setting.
- Respond to service calls and manage workload.
- Document repairs, preventative maintenance, vendor interactions, and equipment calibrations.
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety protocols, and equipment repair techniques.
- Validate inventory and support real‑time service operations with experienced technicians.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Current enrollment in an associate’s, technical degree program, a TRIMEDX Trained Certification, or an equivalent biomedical related certification program.
- Preferred experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment screening, including a limited background check and substance use screening.
- Valid driver’s license required; variable travel may require use of a personal vehicle.
- Be currently enrolled in an associate’s or technical degree program, a TRIMEDX Trained Certification, or an equivalent biomedical related certification program.
