Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - HVAC

3-5 years of experience in designing HVAC systems for commercial, retail, residential, and institutional projects. Excellent spoken and written English skills, BSME, NYS licensure as a PE, LEED AP desirable, must be familiar with the latest NYC Codes and LL 97, self-starter, team player, detail-oriented a must. Site visits for surveying renovation projects at start-up and to observe ongoing construction are part of this position.

The candidate must have technical familiarity with the plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm trades and be able to manage the design process and their coordination.

• Able to design hydronic heating systems of all types including experience with steam systems;
• Able to design ventilation systems including DOAS and DCV types;
• Able to design air filtration, sterilization and purification systems;
• Experience with chiller plant design;

• Write systems comparison analyses to allow for the selection of the optimum HVAC system for any given application.

• Able to check design documents for coordination of all trades;
• Able to design projects within the given fee, with management reports being provided;
• Able to review monthly billing on your projects and adjust to meet fee and budget;
• Able to write up notes on employee performance and how to improve it;
