We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations through technical expertise in automation, controls systems, and equipment optimization. This role involves troubleshooting, process improvement, equipment specification, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance overall manufacturing performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
  • Address day-to-day manufacturing challenges and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose machine stoppages and perform root cause analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and control system diagrams.
  • Develop and provide detailed equipment specifications for both automated and manual systems for vendor quotations.
  • Review vendor quotes, participate in design reviews, and collaborate with project teams for custom equipment development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Actively participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, machine risk assessments, and Critical to Quality (CTQ) processes.
  • Support supplier selection, equipment qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality.
  • Travel up to 10% to domestic manufacturing sites and supplier locations as required.

Required

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting servo and stepper motor control systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical and controls design, with knowledge of NFPA standards.
  • Experience working with automated assembly equipment and troubleshooting using standard diagnostic tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or Electromechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing or automation environments is highly desirable.
