Advisor (Adult-Use & Medical)

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Sweetspot is a licensed, full-service hybrid cannabis dispensary located in Stamford, Connecticut. We are seeking knowledgeable, dependable, and customer-focused Cannabis Advisors to join our team. Our goal is to provide a professional, welcoming, and educational experience for both adult-use customers and registered medical patients, while maintaining strict compliance with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) regulations.

This role is ideal for individuals interested in a long-term opportunity with growth potential in the regulated cannabis industry.

Cannabis Advisor – Core

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Verify the age and eligibility of adult-use customers, medical patients, and caregivers in accordance with all DCP regulations.
  • Consult with adult-use customers and medical patients to assist with product selection, order creation, and order processing while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Educate customers and patients on cannabis products, methods of consumption, potency, and responsible use within the scope permitted by CT regulations.
  • Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and complete all sales transactions.
  • Receive and handle cash and other approved forms of payment in compliance with internal cash-handling controls.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and required customer/patient documentation.
  • Ensure all cannabis products meet regulatory requirements related to identity, strength, quality, purity, packaging, and labeling.
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) that protect product integrity and prevent contamination or diversion.
  • Maintain full compliance with all dispensary policies, procedures, and DCP regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sales floor.
  • Immediately report any dispensing errors, diversion, theft, loss, or discrepancies to management.
  • Support overall dispensary operations as needed, under the direction of management.
Job Qualifications
  • Prior experience in customer service, sales, hospitality, or consultation-based roles preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs, as needed.
  • Weekend and holiday availability required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must successfully pass all state and regulatory background checks.
  • No convictions that would be deemed by the State of Connecticut as an absence of good moral character.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance.
