Overview
The On-Air Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for overseeing broadcast schedule completion and execution of schedule changes for the entirety of on-air distribution. The coordinator serves as a direct point of contact between on-air operations, commercial operations, and program operations to ensure that playlists are scheduled properly and completely for air.
Responsibilities- Maintains air‑ready schedules for play‑out across NBCUniversal cable and broadcast properties using proprietary scheduling systems.
- Coordinates the fulfillment of incomplete schedules to provide a continuous 24/7 schedule across all networks and channels.
- Supports the On‑Air Scheduling Specialist with off‑hour programming or formatting changes to the playlist.
- Assigns and applies resources needed for live events such as external sources, channels, records, and more.
- Uses technical scheduling tools including Web scheduler, OTTO, Wide Orbit, Sintec, and Streetlight.
- Executes contingency scheduling for sports replays such as JIPs, filler programming, and sliding of schedules to bring networks back on time.
- Validates Web scheduler playlists for reliable resource and hardware assignments prior to play‑out.
- Assists with troubleshooting as needed.
- High School Diploma and relevant certification or Associate’s Degree in Media or Communications, or equivalent professional experience in broadcast, digital, or post‑production roles.
- Solid understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
- Strong computer and technical skills, especially Microsoft Office products including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software programs.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure, team‑oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Previous experience with automation preferred.
- Strong client service and interpersonal skills.
- Previous professional experience working with traffic systems or any on‑air scheduling system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups/levels in an organization.

- Position is hybrid: requires contributing from the office minimum three days per week (four days per week from January 5, 2026). The company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.
- Must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be willing to work on‑site in Stamford, CT.
- Must be willing and available to work any shift, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation, with possibility of schedule changes.
This position is eligible for company‑sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and various discounts and perks. Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000.
