Corporate Controller (Hybrid, 3X onsite, Stamford, CT)
Our client is a growing RE Investment Firm in the Stamford, CT, area and they are seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller to join their team. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple entities, with a focus on real estate development and project-based accounting. The position supports leadership with budgeting, compliance, underwriting, and financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, and multi-entity financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support grant compliance, funding draws, and financial reporting to lenders, investors, and government agencies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with senior leadership
• Coordinate audit preparation and tax filings with external auditors and accounting firms
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Provide financial analysis and support for project underwriting and development activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience; real estate development or affordable housing experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, real estate accounting, joint ventures, and equity waterfalls
• Familiarity with affordable housing financing structures (e.g., LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, HUD) highly desirable
• Experience managing multi-entity structures and coordinating tax filings
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books, Yardi, MRI) and advanced Excel skills
