Grants Accountant
Job Summary:
The Grants Accountant is responsible for managing the financial administration of grants and contracts, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and reconciliation. This role ensures all grant-related financial activity aligns with organizational policies and funding agency requirements. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment.

Key Responsibilities :
Monitor and track grant revenues and receipts to ensure all entitled funds are collected.
Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and restrictions.
Prepare and submit timely financial reports to funding agencies.
Work within various funding source portals to upload required documentation.
Assist with grant budget development, revisions, and modifications.
Partner with program managers to review spending and forecast funding needs.
Reconcile grant accounts and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.
Maintain detailed documentation to support audits and reporting requirements.
Manage timely invoicing and drawdowns from funding sources.
Stay current on federal, state, and private grant regulations.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes related to grants.
Assist with internal and external audits and annual budget preparation as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong working knowledge of accounting and billing systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
