Indirect Tax Manager
This position is responsible for leading all aspects of the global indirect tax function, focused on developing and carrying out WWE's global tax strategy. It includes forecasting of cash tax payments, coordinating with global tax planning and business support, global tax authority engagement, and collaboration with external consultants in fulfilling WWE's financial reporting and tax compliance commitments including the implementation of scalable indirect tax processes and solutions.
The role primarily focuses on managing US sales and use tax, VAT, and GST for the company and its affiliates.
- Manage all global indirect tax compliance and reporting by teaming with internal and external partners
- Ensure indirect tax returns and payments are timely filed/paid for all domestic and foreign jurisdictions where the company operates, working with local tax advisors for filings/payments in certain foreign jurisdictions
- Work cross‑functionally on talent related withholding tax matters, for US and non‑US events
- Review all indirect tax notices, resolve and respond to local tax authorities accordingly
- Assist with all aspects of global indirect tax audits to help drive an efficient and timely resolution
- Maintain compliance with existing internal controls around key indirect tax processes and systems
- Review and advise on customer and supplier contracts from an indirect tax perspective
- Perform tax research as necessary to ensure appropriate sales tax rates are being applied appropriately on various revenue streams in the US, including events, sponsor ships, broadcasts, memberships, and merchandise
- Review and process all indirect tax journal entries prepared by outsourced indirect tax accountants
- Review tax balance sheet account reconciliations for applicable accounts and ensure accounts are reconciled in a timely manner and reconciling items are resolved promptly
- Manage all US local business licenses prepared by outsourced indirect tax accountants and ensure filed and paid timely
- Assist with implementation of new tax policies, strategies, procedures, and other cross‑functional initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum 5‑7 years of indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or large multinational corporate tax department, with an in‑depth understanding of indirect tax laws and systems
- Proficient in performing technical research and preparing audit‑ready documentation of conclusions reached
- Experience with SAP S/4
