Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Supervisor/Manager role based in Stamford, CT. The Supervisor/Manager (CPA) will oversee and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax engagements, ensuring high-quality work product, technical accuracy, and timely delivery.
This role includes managing engagement planning and execution, coordinating with partners on tax strategy, and identifying tax savings and risk-mitigation opportunities for clients.
The Supervisor/Manager will lead and mentor staff, delegate and review work, provide training and feedback, and help develop team members’ technical and professional skills.
Day-to-day responsibilities also include direct client communication, managing expectations and deadlines, supporting advisory projects (e.g., succession planning, transactions, estate and gift planning), and contributing to process improvements and firm initiatives.
Qualifications- Active CPA license and at least 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with a focus on tax (individual, partnership, corporate, and trust).
- Strong technical tax skills, including tax research, compliance, and planning, with familiarity in areas such as estate, trust, and gift tax, and multi-state issues.
- Proven supervisory experience, including managing engagements, reviewing work, mentoring staff, and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Excellent client service capabilities, including relationship management, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain complex tax concepts in accessible terms.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and research software, Microsoft Excel and Word, and willingness to learn and leverage new technologies and workflow tools.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience or interest in serving high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and industries such as real estate, financial services, technology, and professional services is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
