BLP Intern - Credit

Overview

Synchrony’s Business Leadership Program Summer Internship is a 10‑week paid assignment in one of our 10 Tracks. Each BLP Intern receives project work that is important to our business and works with a full mentoring team to innovate for our future. An immersive orientation during Week1 and an Intern Summer Series provide networking and ongoing support.

• Learn the process of fairly and responsibly extending credit – including underwriting, managing loan portfolios, and mitigating fraud.
• Help clients achieve the right balance of growth and loss mitigation.
• Use advanced analytics techniques to develop and implement strategies that drive business decisions.
• Understand the entire account credit lifecycle and its impact on the Profit & Loss Statement.
• Work closely with client partners as part of our client teams.
• Collaborate with sophisticated probabilistic models and maintain relationships with Credit Bureaus and scoring vendors.

• Software proficiency: SAS, Python, machine‑learning modeling; experience with financial statements and P&L statements (cash flow a plus).

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or a related major.
• Excellent academic record – minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Availability for 10 consecutive weeks during the Internship (June – August).
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to submit to a background investigation, drug screen, and fingerprinting.
• Must satisfy the requirements of Section
  19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

• Geographic mobility:
  Ability to relocate based on program or business direction.
• Participants will receive full relocation benefits (if moving 50 miles or more) and fully furnished housing.
