The Role
The role’s primary purpose is to partner with the smokefree products (SFP) category Commercial teams (under direction of the Finance Business Partner), providing Finance expertise to help effectively operationalize the SFP strategic plan for IQOS, Moist Snuff, Snus, and Chew. The role serves as a trusted business partner who bridges across the Commercial and Finance teams and possesses a deep understanding of the product category’s commercial activities and their link to financial performance.
Key stakeholders include the US market Commercial leadership team, US Finance leadership team, among others. Attributes that will drive success include clear/transparent management performance explanations, pursuit of data-driven business driver analysis and insights, and effective collaboration with and management of indirect functional teams.
Your day-to-day- Partner with the commercial team in support of the SFP Integrated Business Plan connecting all Commercial and Operational activities.
- Manage preparation and consolidation of SFP scenario plans including Budgets (OB), Forecasts (RF/IBP), and ‘what-if’ analyses including providing explanations for variance drivers.
- Drive the development of demand forecast models that inform SFP category shipment and product contribution projections, incorporating the primary drivers of consumer offtake.
- Drive the development of investment performance metrics and ROI /post-project execution analysis for trade and brand investments.
- Monitor market trends informed by consumer insights that link commercial plans to financial results.
- Stakeholder Centric: focus on effective business partnering across multiple Commercial disciplines including Commercial Planning, Trade Marketing, Brand Marketing and Revenue Growth Management, among others, under the leadership of the Commercial Finance Business Partner.
- Partner with and support other product category activities, as assigned, in developing Integrated Business Plans.
- Ability to think conceptually and evaluate data using analytical and logical decision-making, understand the math behind the numbers and formulate the right questions, compare results and ensure the validity of findings
- Possess good working knowledge of financial modeling, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis and revenue forecasting reflecting Commercial plans
- Comfort with ambiguity, adept at proposing a solution despite moving targets
- Strong (constructive) communication and storytelling abilities, including delivering ‘the story’ in graphical presentations
- Thrive to be agile and flexible to deliver faster, intellectual curiosity and innovative thinking
- Inspire trust and reliability as a cornerstone for impactful influencing; prioritize inclusivity and advocate project-based ways of working
- Ability to confidently lead/participate in business discussions with the category Management Team
- Fluency with AI-based applications as a productivity/efficiency work tool
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar.
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles is preferable.
- Minimum 5 years Finance experience, preferably in support of Market/Regional Commercial teams or Corporate activities.
- Able to handle large volumes of data, convert the data into information, and translate the information into insights.
