Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking a Financial Analyst to support planning, forecasting, month‑end close, KPI reporting, and variance analysis across key supply chain expenditures, including warehousing, inventory, excise taxes, and standard costs. This role reports to the Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis and will partner closely with the inventory and logistics planning teams to track actual results, identify key business drivers, and explain variances clearly.
LocationStamford, CT. Candidates must live within commuting distance to the headquarters to attend in‑person meetings or events from time to time.
Responsibilities- Support month‑end close and actuals reporting for supply chain expenditures, including accruals, journal entry support, account reconciliations, invoice coding, and validation of results.
- Contribute to budget and forecast processes for warehousing, freight, excise taxes, inventory, and standard costs.
- Develop and maintain reporting to monitor actuals, analyze variances against budget, forecast, and prior year, and clearly explain key business drivers.
- Manage and analyze large, complex data sets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and translate those insights into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Partner with cross‑functional partners during budget to support the standard cost creation process.
- Support ad hoc reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- At least 2‑3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, supply chain finance, or a related analytical role; CPG experience preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes.
- Experience working with large data sets and financial reporting systems, such as Cognos, JDE, or similar.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work efficiently with large data sets, lookup formulas, pivot tables, and detailed reporting files.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, with the ability to balance precision, materiality, and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Agile learner who can quickly understand new processes, systems, data sources, and business drivers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate analysis into clear business explanations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
