We're seeking a valuation professional with approximately 2–3 years of experience gained within an asset management firm, public accounting firm, financial institution, or fund administrator.
Ideal backgrounds include:
- Experience with in a valuation, pricing, or investment operations function
- Public accounting professionals with audit experience supporting investment funds or financial services clients
- Specialists focused on security pricing, valuation, or fair value analysis
- Financial modeling experience is a plus
Work Arrangement

Compensation
- Total Compensation:
Approximately $115,000–$120,000
Position Summary
This role is part of a centralized Valuation team responsible for overseeing the valuation framework across a diverse range of investment vehicles, including registered funds, private investment vehicles, separately managed accounts, and international fund structures.
The team is responsible for governance, valuation methodology oversight, pricing controls, escalation procedures, and maintaining a robust valuation control environment.
The successful candidate will help ensure investment valuations are timely, accurate, well-documented, and compliant with applicable regulatory standards. The role partners extensively with Portfolio Management, Operations, Fund Accounting, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Treasury, and external service providers to support the firm's evolving valuation framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end valuation process, including preparation of valuation committee materials and fair value documentation.
- Assist in enhancing valuation governance, operating procedures, and control processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in daily and periodic valuation activities, including:
- Reviewing complex or illiquid securities
- Challenging vendor pricing where appropriate
- Investigating pricing discrepancies and valuation exceptions
- Escalating issues through established governance channels
- Apply sound judgment when evaluating valuation methodologies, pricing models, assumptions, and observable and unobservable market inputs.
- Maintain compliance with applicable valuation regulations and internal policies while ensuring thorough documentation and strong internal controls.
- Perform oversight of third-party pricing vendors and external service providers, including:
- Methodology assessments
- Ongoing performance monitoring
- Pricing challenge processes
- Service quality oversight
- Identify opportunities to strengthen valuation controls, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate valuation risk.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to valuation methodologies, controls, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and validating valuation models across multiple asset classes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced investment environment where independent judgment is critical.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong understanding of security valuation methodologies and fair value principles.
- Experience evaluating pricing models, assumptions, and market inputs.
- Knowledge of corporate actions and their impact on security valuation, including mergers, spin-offs, rights offerings, acquisitions, and SPAC transactions.
- Familiarity with derivatives valuation and related market data.
- Experience building, reviewing, or validating valuation models is preferred.
- Understanding of valuation regulations applicable to investment funds.
- Ability to independently assess complex valuation scenarios and provide thoughtful recommendations.
- Experience working with external auditors, pricing vendors, custodians, or fund administrators.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong focus on controls and risk management.
Technical Skills
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- SQL
- Microsoft Excel
- Python
- Bloomberg
- Market data and pricing platforms
- Investment accounting or fund administration platforms
