- Conduct policy research and analysis supporting Domestic Policy Team priorities
- Develop policy and advocacy products, including one-pagers, issue summaries, and documents for U.S. policymakers
- Analyze coalition partner, aligned NGO, and other organizational policy research
- Attend coalition meetings and occasional Hill meetings
- Support leadership of the National Promise Neighborhoods Coalition by advancing policy priorities and advocacy engagement with Congress and the Administration
- Track Congressional and Administration developments, including hearings, bill introductions, committee meetings, agency announcements, and related developments
- Monitor secondary policy areas connected to SCUS priorities, strategy, and domestic campaigns
- Assist with congressional targeting by compiling vote records and policy positions of key members of Congress
- Support procurement processes, internal reporting, and coordination across teams, departments, and divisions
- Analyze government relations plans and next steps
- Support management of interns and track related research and legislative projects
- Support development and internal dissemination of policy and advocacy materials
- Plan and execute strategic policy events, briefings, and convenings
- Handle emerging advocacy issues as they arise
- Coordinate National Promise Neighborhoods Coalition member engagement, meeting logistics, materials development, and coalition communications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting government, government relations, policy, advocacy, or public affairs
- Familiarity with federal policy making and the federal legislative process
- Proven analytical ability, including the ability to produce written analytical and research materials
- Demonstrated persuasive and politically astute communication and networking skills with a range of different audiences
- Enthusiasm for advocacy and government relations work
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Experience organizing and executing events (preferred)
- Understanding of U.S. legislative process (preferred)
- Experience with child-focused domestic policy, including education, nutrition, or rural policy (preferred)
Demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills to support policy research and advocacy efforts, with a focus on U.S. legislative processes and coalition engagement. Proficient in developing policy materials and executing strategic events to advance domestic policy priorities.
