Stamford Health has an opportunity for a full-time Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), RN in Stamford! The Registered Nurse will work in the outpatient Diabetes Education Program as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). Nurse will be a member of the education team and will perform patient assessments as well as develop, instruct and evaluate both individual and group sessions in accordance with the current National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
The nurse will teach evidence based approved curriculum and participate in maintaining American Diabetes Association Recognition status and actively participate on the Diabetes Advisory Committee. This team member will be knowledgeable in insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring training and will obtain manufacturers product certification as needed.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Responsibilities:
This is required for maintaining CDE credential..
- BSN required. Current CT. Registered Nurse License.
- Minimum 3-5 years of recent clinical experience with evidence of diabetes related teaching. CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) required. Credential required or obtained within 2 years of hire.
- Current certification in Insulin Pump Training and Continuous Glucose Monitoring is required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
