Senior Payroll Specialist

Position Overview:

Our company is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team for a 6-month temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in processing payroll for organizations with 200+ employees, handling both exempt and non-exempt staff. Multi-system payroll experience, time and attendance knowledge, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance are critical for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and process accurate bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for 200+ employees, including exempt and non-exempt staff.

+ Manage all aspects of payroll operations including reconciliation, year-end reporting, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.

+ Utilize multiple payroll and timekeeping systems to ensure data integrity and seamless processing.

+ Track and resolve discrepancies, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.

+ Maintain and update employee payroll records and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, time, and attendance.

+ Review and approve timesheets, PTO, overtime, commissions, and special payments.

+ Support payroll tax filings and audit requests as needed.

+ Partner with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment and timely submission of payroll data.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of payroll experience, with demonstrated responsibility for companies of 200+ employees.

+ Solid experience with both exempt and non-exempt payroll, including multi-state payroll processing.

+ Proficiency with multiple payroll and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, Kronos, Ultimate, Ceridian, etc.).

+ Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

+ Detail-oriented with high regard for accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

+ CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is a plus.

+

Experience with payroll process improvement or systems migration is desirable.
