Location: Greenwich, CT - M-Th, in office | Fridays are WFH
Comp: $120-140k
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead all human resources functions while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office. This role will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, helping drive talent initiatives, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and compliance across the organization.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic HR leader and a collaborative operational professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building processes, developing talent, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources Leadership- Lead and manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, learning and development, and offboarding.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that align with organizational objectives and long-term growth initiatives.
- Design, implement, and enhance HR policies, programs, and processes to support employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness.
- Develop and administer performance management programs, including annual reviews, goal-setting processes, feedback initiatives, and employee development planning.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, performance concerns, conflict resolution, coaching, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
- Manage employee benefits programs, leave administration, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Oversee talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, job description development, recruitment strategies, candidate selection, and partnership with external recruiting firms.
- Lead onboarding initiatives to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new employees.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data within BambooHR, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor required certifications, trainings, and compliance-related documentation.
- Stay current on employment law developments, HR best practices, and industry trends, proactively recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Develop and lead employee engagement programs designed to support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Organize employee events, recognition programs, team-building activities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers across the organization.
- Oversee the daily operations of the office, ensuring a professional, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.
- Manage office facilities, vendor relationships, equipment, and operational needs.
- Supervise administrative staff and provide leadership, coaching, and workflow management support.
- Develop and improve office processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and service levels.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support organizational operations and special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Prior experience overseeing office operations and administrative functions.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience managing employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, benefits administration, and talent acquisition.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems;
BambooHR experience strongly preferred. - Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience building or enhancing HR programs and processes within a growing organization.
- Experience leading employee engagement, culture-building, and organizational development initiatives.
