Data Scientist Intern

Job Description

The Data Scientist Intern will support team members as they conduct in‑depth analyses, build predictive models, and develop machine learning algorithms that enhance the organization’s data‑driven decision‑making. This role will leverage highly technical tools and concepts to provide data solutions that align with our long‑term goals.

June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025. Must be available for the first week (6/2 – 6/6), the last week (8/4 – 8/8) and at least 7 of the 8 weeks between 6/9 – 8/1. Any known absence must be communicated in advance to Talent Acquisition and the Hiring Manager.

Monday – Friday, 30-40 hours per week during the 10‑week program.

• Support data science team members through participation in the design, building, and deployment of predictive and prescriptive models using statistical and machine learning techniques
• Shadow team members as they collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where data science can add value and solve business problems
• Implement data preparation and manipulation tasks for model training, validation, and scoring, ensuring reproducibility and scalability
• Prepare write‑ups and present learnings to team members to ensure seamless hand‑offs and knowledge sharing
• Follow data quality and governance standards in all analyses

• Enrolled in a Data Science or Statistics degree program
• Familiarity with Python and SQL
• Familiarity with foundational statistical concepts (e.g., central tendency, variability, spread, regression, classification)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
