Overview

Contract TO Hire - Hybrid role (3 days/Week) at Stamford, CT.

Our client is seeking a highly experienced principal product manager (6 months contract to hire) to join their new AI squad in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

You'll be enabling adoption of AI when appropriate, fostering innovation, and training the company to adapt.

This role reports into the Head of AI.

The client's tech stack is 4 years old, designed to leverage cutting‑edge technologies and tools.

They utilize AWS as our cloud platform, enabling scalable and secure infrastructure.

Our infrastructure is managed using Terraform, with Docker and AWS Lambda for containerization and deployment.

We rely on Git Lab for our CI/CD processes to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Research and propose AI agent workflows to enable efficiencies tner with engineering to define:
    • Tool ecosystems (APIs, plugins, function calling)
    • Orchestration patterns (single-agent vs multi-agent systems)
    • State management (short-term vs long-term memory)
  • Define clear boundaries for agent behavior, capabilities, and permissions
  • Translate ambiguous agent capabilities into clear product requirements and phased rollouts
  • Work alongside the data platform team to enable AI‑driven analytics and reporting tools
  • Ensure responsible AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and risk mitigation
  • Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes
  • Align teams around shared goals, timelines, and success metrics
  • Ensure high-quality product delivery through strong collaboration with product, engineering and security
  • Manage and prioritize product backlog ensuring alignment with the Head of Product
  • Pivot between being a leader and a contributor. As part of a small team, we are all player/coaches.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Mentor PMs on integrating AI into product thinking
Requirements
  • 10+ years in product management, ideally with AI or complex SAAS products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with creating AI.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Deep understanding of product lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of data management, security, quality, and governance best practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and product specifications.
  • Strong Agile proficiency with practical application to deliver incremental, high‑quality solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complex project timelines in fast‑paced environments.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry and/or Financial Services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building collaborative relationships across teams and stakeholders.
  • Scrum Certification (Preferred).
