Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure company data remains secure by monitoring, enforcing, and implementing security processes.
- Work with the Architecture team to implement the data and platform architecture from a security and compliance perspective.
- Assist Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Science, and other teams with security requests and policy implementation.
- Generate audit reports and ensure compliance with security standards and policies.
- Administer vulnerability assessments and security threat response, ensuring follow‑up actions are completed.
- Report and manage security risks in partnership with the Cyber‑Security and Compliance teams.
- Maintain regular liaison with the Cyber Security and Compliance teams to discuss strategy, trends, and audits.
- Develop and lead the implementation of the organization’s data security strategy.
- Oversee the design and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align security strategies with business goals.
- Automate security tasks, reports, and alerts to improve system ergonomics.
- Ensure compliance with PII regulations through encryption, tokenization, and redaction techniques, safeguarding customer data.
- Drive continuous improvement in data security practices and maintain a posture ahead of emerging threats.
- Participate in infrastructure and development workshops and meetings.
- Work outside normal business hours and weekends when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong scripting knowledge in SQL and Power Shell.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCS).
- Programming experience (Python preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Power Shell or other shell languages.
- Solid understanding of security principles and standards.
