Part-Time Senior Employment Attorney (expected ~20 hrs/wk)

Compensation Range: $67,000 - $73,000/yr
We are a creative, collaborative boutique labor and employment law firm serving clients in the NY Tri-State area seeking a trustworthy, experienced part-time Senior Employment Attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal professional seeking meaningful, flexible work with a respected and collaborative practice, serving both employers and employees.
Key Responsibilities- Provide practical, strategic advice on a wide range of employment law issues, including hiring, employee relations, accommodations, leaves, wage and hour compliance, and terminations.
- Draft and review employment‑related documents such as handbooks, policies, employment agreements, NDAs, and separation agreements.
- Counsel clients on workplace best practices and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (especially NY, CT, and NJ).
- Represent clients in employment‑related litigation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings (e.g., EEOC, state agency complaints, DOL inquiries, non‑compete cease & desist letters, union arbitration, commercial arbitration and litigation).
- Conduct internal investigations and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct intake assessments, damage calculations, draft demand letters, perform legal research.
- Effectively and persuasively negotiate favorable employment contracts, settlements and severance agreements for employers and employees alike.
- Draft client alerts and presentation materials; partner on client engagement analysis and activities.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in New York;
Connecticut or New Jersey bar admission a plus. - 5+ years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on counseling and compliance as well as litigation.
- Litigation and negotiating experience including administrative charges, arbitration, and employment‑related lawsuits, as well as pre‑litigation demand and cease & desist letters and severance/offer letter negotiations.
- Strong writing, communication, presentation, problem‑solving, technology, and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and discretion over matters of importance, prioritize client and internal firm needs appropriately, and manage a flexible, part‑time schedule.

This is a part‑time, salaried, exempt position, paying $67,/yr; we offer PTO and Paid Holidays, as well as legally‑required benefits.
