Logistics Coordination
This position will be integrally involved in the daily Transportation activities for Electric Boat Corporation which includes but are not limited to shipyard trade requests, special projects, and ensuring work completion. The incumbent will exercise problem‑recognition and resolution skills while interfacing with various levels of management and shipyard personnel. Compliance with safety, quality, environmental, cost, schedule and process‑improvement attributes is mandatory, and the incumbent must be familiar with D.O.T. regulations.
Strong computer skills are required; the applicant will need to train and become proficient in the use of Pitch Catch, our material‑scanning and tracking program. Responsibilities include material flow management—trade material fixtures, storage, processing surplus and identification of stored materials—as well as supporting material requests to off‑site locations such as Newport News, Quonset, and other vendors.
In addition, the selected candidate may be required to help provide support to 2nd shift as needed.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- 5+ years of experience working in an IT or technical support environment
- Experience establishing, generating, maintaining and reporting on department performance metrics
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Working knowledge of EB legacy and enterprise computer systems, MRP, Oracle & JCALS and strong computer skills using Microsoft programs (e.g. Excel, Word, Access) and Lotus Notes
- Prior shipping and receiving experience
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Strong computer and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Strong PC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to analyze data and information

- Ability to function both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
