Day Kimball Health is hiring for a Perioperative Material Coordinator to join our Material Management in Putnam, CT!
Per Diem Requirement: Per diem employees are expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per month.

Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Director with a dotted reporting line to Perioperative Nursing Leadership, the Perioperative Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating perioperative supply chain operations to support efficient clinical operations, procedural readiness, inventory optimization, and product availability across designated perioperative departments, including ACU, Wound Clinic, and Central Sterile Processing.
This role serves as the operational liaison between Perioperative Services, Supply Chain, Purchasing, CSS, OR leadership, Contract Management, and Data & Analytics to ensure accurate inventory management, procedural support, ERP integrity, preference card accuracy, contract compliance, and supply continuity. The coordinator manages perioperative purchasing workflows, supports procedural demand planning, maintains inventory accuracy, assists with product standardization initiatives, and supports continuous operational improvement throughout the perioperative environment.
Responsibilities- Serves as the primary Supply Chain liaison for Perioperative Services and designated procedural departments, including ACU, Wound Clinic, and Central Sterile Processing.
- Creates and manages purchase requisitions for perioperative departments based on surgical scheduling, designated par levels, procedural demand, and organizational operational needs.
- Coordinates directly with Supply Chain Buyers to track purchase order status, monitor delivery timelines and ETAs, resolve service disruptions, backorders, and supply shortages, and elevate critical procedural supply concerns.
- Collaborates with Data & Analytics to establish and maintain accurate min/max inventory levels, ensure perioperative and OR items are properly loaded in the ERP system, validate item master integrity, UOM accuracy, and product standardization, and support inventory optimization initiatives.
- Works with Data & Analytics and Supply Chain leadership to identify high‑volume direct‑order products suitable for storeroom conversion, improving inventory visibility, stock availability, supply continuity, and operational efficiency.
- Supports the development, maintenance, and optimization of custom procedure packs in collaboration with clinical leadership, Supply Chain, Data & Analytics, and vendors.
- Partners with Perioperative Services and Data & Analytics to maintain accurate, current preference cards, ensure updates are reflected in procedural scheduling and ERP systems, and improve procedural picking accuracy and inventory forecasting.
- Coordinates with CSS, OR leadership, and Supply Chain teams to improve storeroom organization, case cart and procedural picking accuracy, inventory replenishment workflows, and supply chain operational efficiency.
- High school diploma required. Associate’s degree and/or AHRMM Materials Management Certification preferred.
