WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOUThe Customs Coordinator is the subject matter expert on all import/export operations related to Verbio North America activities. It is his/her responsibility to ensure an error-free and in-time execution of logistics activities, reporting and correction. He/she reviews, refines, and improves the daily Logistics operations, as well as the company's business systems and processes. This is a full-time salaried position reporting to the Director of Logistics & Operations.
EssentialFunctions of the Job:
- Coordinate the execution of domestic and international inbound and outbound freight movements relating to Verbio North America.
- Prepare and send all the shipment documents and commercial invoices to customers.
- Manage all the import and export activities for the North American entities and ensure that accurate documentation is prepared and sent on time.
- Maintain up-to-date customs knowledge, ensure that all documents are accurate and valid (certificate of origin, bonds, etc.) and support customs audits.
- Develop process analysis to improve efficiency, lower costs and reduce risk of errors.
- Perform the data entries in the ERP system (Great Plains).
- Oversee contract entry and distribution with vendors/customers.
- Work with the Accounting Team to ensure timely payment of all freight and operations charges to the providers.
- Follow, update, and create SOP and templates.
- Ensure that all the compliance requirements are met by the Logistics & Operations team.
- Act as a backup for other logistics coordinators when necessary, including the Canadian logistics coordinator.
- Respond to and handle logistics issues after hours as necessary.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management or a comparable course of studies
- 2-5 years relevant work experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Between 2-5 years of work experience in Import/Exports
- Logistics operations execution
- Commodity markets experience a plus but not required
- Knowledge of customs and clearance processes
- Knowledge of contract administration and logistics terms related to commodities
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to overcome obstacles: develop solutions to routine problems following established policies and procedures.
This position is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally stand or walk. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and hearing. Visual acuity required for reading, computer work, and reviewing documents. Occasionally required to lift or move office materials weighing up to 15–20 pounds.

The VERBIO Nevada Biorefinery , located in Nevada, Iowa (USA), is the first industrial-scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in North America using agricultural residues as its feedstock. The plant is 100% owned by VERBIO North America Holdings Corporation.
RNG production of 7 million ethanol gallons equivalent (EGE) per year. The site began operating as a biorefinery, producing 60 million gallons of corn-based ethanol and an additional 19 million gallons of RNG from stillage. The integration of RNG and ethanol production, unique to VERBIO, incorporates advanced operational technology currently practiced at the company’s facilities in Germany. The process also yields humus, a soil amendment, and organic fertilizers.
