Entry-Level Production Associate Job Description

This entry-level role focuses on performing weigh‑up and packaging duties within a fast‑paced production department. You help ensure that products meet quality standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements while supporting efficient manufacturing operations in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Perform weigh‑up and packaging tasks within the production department in accordance with work instructions and safety protocols.
• Operate within a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment to support general production and shipping activities.
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to customer specifications.
• Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient workflow and safe operations.
• Support shipping and warehouse functions by preparing products for distribution and ensuring accurate packaging and labeling.
• Monitor products during the packaging process to maintain high quality standards and identify any defects or issues.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and delivery requirements.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
• Participate in cross‑training opportunities to learn additional tasks and support different areas of production as needed.

• 1+ year of experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
• Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail in performing weigh‑up, packaging, and general production tasks.
• Comfort working in a production, warehouse, or distribution environment.
• Reliability and willingness to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.

You work in an industrial plastic manufacturing facility that is temperature controlled, providing a comfortable environment throughout the year. The site is mid‑sized, with around 60 employees, and is actively growing its team. The facility operates as a union shop, and once permanent, employees have access to overtime opportunities.

The schedule includes two 15‑minute breaks and a 30‑minute paid lunch period. You can expect to work around manufacturing, production, warehouse, and shipping operations, using standard industrial equipment and following clearly defined safety and operational procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stamford, CT.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
