Overview of The Rowan Center & KidSafeHQ:

The Rowan Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence and providing prevention education throughout Lower Fairfield County. For 46 years, we have provided crisis counseling, advocacy, education, and long-term healing services in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and survivor-centered manner.

In addition to our prevention and crisis response work, The Rowan Center operates the Trauma Recovery Practice, offering long-term therapy and EMDR-based treatment for survivors of any form of trauma across Connecticut.

KidSafeHQ is The Rowan Center’s statewide digital safety platform designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools they need to protect children from online and offline harm, including sextortion, grooming, cyberbullying, deepfakes, and digital exploitation. The platform combines expert insights, local law enforcement guidance, and trusted resources to help families navigate today’s rapidly changing digital world.

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for expanding awareness, partnerships, and community engagement for The Rowan Center, with distinct geographic focus areas:

• Statewide outreach for the Trauma Recovery Practice and KidSafeHQ
• Regional outreach in Lower Fairfield County for prevention education and direct services

This role builds and strengthens relationships with schools, parent organizations, law enforcement, healthcare providers, youth-serving organizations, municipalities, and community partners to ensure that families and survivors know how to access Rowan Center services. This is a highly relational, community-driven role for someone who is energetic, organized, and passionate about trauma recovery, child safety, and community-based prevention.

• Build and maintain statewide partnerships for the Trauma Recovery Practice and KidSafeHQ with healthcare systems, state agencies, school districts, and family-serving organizations.
• Strengthen and expand lower Fairfield County relationships with schools, PTOs, youth-serving agencies, and municipal partners for prevention education and direct services.
• Develop outreach pipelines that introduce new communities to Rowan Center services at both the local and statewide levels.
• Build partnerships with police departments, school resource officers, healthcare providers, and digital safety experts.

• Lead statewide outreach strategies for the Trauma Recovery Practice and KidSafeHQ.
• Support regional outreach strategies in lower Fairfield County for education and direct services.
• Coordinate and attend community events, conferences, PTA meetings, safety forums, and partner meetings.
• Represent The Rowan Center at events and share information about trauma recovery services, child safety, and digital safety resources.
• Work with Rowan Center educators and clinicians to schedule and promote presentations, workshops, and informational sessions.
• Track outreach activities, impressions, and engagement outcomes.

• Promote Trauma Recovery Practice therapy services statewide.
• Promote KidSafeHQ’s educational content, live Q&As, and digital tools statewide.
• Ensure families and survivors statewide, including underserved and multilingual communities, have access to these services.
• Strengthen access to Rowan Center education and direct services for residents of lower Fairfield County.
• Develop relationships with municipalities and family-serving agencies to increase awareness of Rowan Center programs.
• Collect feedback from caregivers, partners, and service providers to improve outreach strategies and resources.

• Maintain contact lists for statewide and regional partners.
• Assist with email outreach, newsletters, announcements, and awareness campaigns.
• Identify new outreach opportunities and emerging community needs.
• Track engagement trends and compile quarterly outreach reports distinguishing statewide and regional impact.
