Location and Scope
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital seeks to recruit an advanced practice registered nurse to join our outpatient psychiatry team. Located at our Stamford office, the APRN will act as the primary prescriber for adult patients referred for psychiatric treatment.
The APRN will work collaboratively with department and system physicians and the treatment team to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside psychiatrists, therapists, and integrated care partners in a supportive environment that values clinical autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and high‑quality outcomes. Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for outpatient populations.
- Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient and family needs throughout the process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Work in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways, and may provide autonomous team‑based care.
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations when necessary, review and order diagnostic and therapeutic tests and radiologic results, formulate and manage patient treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families on care and available resources, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This includes admitting instructions, treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge plans.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients, their family members, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical practice.
- Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in process of obtaining.
- ACLS/BLS (as required) Certification.
- DEA License.
