Overview
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital seeks an advanced practice registered nurse to join our outpatient psychiatry team located in Stamford. The APRN will act as the primary prescriber for adult patients referred for psychiatric treatment and will work collaboratively with department and system physicians, therapists, and integrated care partners. The role offers opportunities for clinical precepting and professional development within a supportive environment that values clinical autonomy and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for outpatient populations.
- Conduct assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient and family needs as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Work in collaboration with attending or supervising physicians in accordance with state law, hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols, and clinical pathways.
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations when necessary, review, and order diagnostic or therapeutic tests and radiologic results, and formulate and manage patient treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about care and available resources, including treatment plans, potential side effects, and discharge instructions.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients, their families, and significant others in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical practice.
- Active, unrestricted CT medical license or in the process of obtaining one.
- ACLS/BLS certification (as required).
- DEA License.
