Walk in Clinic - Orthopedic APP - Per Diem

Overview

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to Walk-In Orthopedic Care.
• Perform focused musculoskeletal assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans for acute orthopedic injuries and conditions.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, as clinically indicated.
• Apply orthopedic splints, braces, casts, and other immobilization devices as needed.
• Perform minor orthopedic procedures within scope of practice, including joint injections, aspirations, and wound care.
• Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, injury prevention, and follow-up care recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, radiology staff, and ancillary clinical teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
• Facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up appointments with orthopedic specialists when necessary.
• Maintain a patient-centered approach while delivering timely care in a fast-paced walk‑in clinic environment.

• Per Diem Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

  Long Ridge Medical Center, 260 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT 06902
• Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Prior Orthopedic APP experience required
• Experience in urgent care, sports medicine, emergency medicine, or orthopedic surgery required
• Ability to independently assess and manage orthopedic conditions in an ambulatory setting required

• Clinical Care
  * The Physician Assistant (PA) or the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The NP/PA, whether the practice setting is the inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings, provides optimal patient care, from diagnostic to prognostic matters. This individual works in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide autonomous team based care.
