Schedule

Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Stamford.

About the Role

The Diabetes & Endocrine Medical Group Practice is hiring a Registered Nurse. The RN will coordinate and develop patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and provide supervision and mentorship for non‑RN team members.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews schedules and organizes patient flow; greets patients, documents concerns, and accompanies them to exam/procedure rooms and prepares them for physical exams.
  • Conducts initial patient interviews, reviews medical profiles, H&P, and documents findings in EMR or charting as appropriate.
  • Obtains and accurately documents vital signs, weight, and reports abnormalities to physician.
  • Assists with specimen collection and testing as necessary.
  • Documents pertinent information in EMR.
  • Assists patients as necessary (e.g., walking, transferring, dressing).
  • Provides minor treatment as directed by physician and assists physicians with minor procedures.
  • Provides education as indicated after assessing the learning needs of the patient and/or family.
  • Documents all patient‑related activities.
  • Schedules patient testing and pre‑certifies insurance as required.
  • Responds to all telephone messages (patient, physician offices, etc.).
  • Makes end‑of‑month checks for expired supplies and medication.
  • Stocks rooms, maintains inventory, or exam/procedure rooms.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Cleans exam/procedure rooms and equipment after each patient.
  • Prepares exam/procedure rooms for the next patient and physician needs.
  • Notifies patients of test results (per physician instruction) and follow‑up.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings, in‑service education opportunities, and participates in continuing education programs.
  • Formulates and maintains effective working relationships with employees and other managers of the health care team.
  • Respects and protects patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy; discloses information only for professional purposes in the patient’s best interests while considering legal rights.
  • Displays a positive attitude when interacting with physician office staff, physicians, and fellow employees.
  • Participates in and supports performance improvement and risk management activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to maintain a high level of service.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including practice‑specific requirements.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior by following service standards.
  • Complies with departmental organizational policies, procedures, and external agency requirements.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Valid license as Registered Nurse in CT.
  • BLS certification.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a similar position.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
