Staff RN ENDO​/GI, Fulltime

Stamford Health is hiring a Full‑time Staff RN ENDO/GI for GI Services at the Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Ct, Stamford, CT. This position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, (4) 10‑hour shifts 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and does not include weekends or holidays.

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines.
• Provide supervision of non‑RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on the assigned unit.
• Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role.
• Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.
• Adhere to all Stamford Hospital policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
• Provide safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture.
• Provide direct patient care to a select group of patients and advocate on their behalf.
• Assess patient’s physical and psychosocial condition throughout the continuum of care.
• Develop and communicate patient plan of care reflecting patient issues and proposed interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with patient, family and healthcare team in implementing plan of care.
• Provide education as indicated after assessing learning needs of patient and family.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the health care team and related departments to provide accurate information about patient care.
• Formulate and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers and other team members.
• Display a positive attitude and work to achieve an environment of respect, accountability, teamwork, integrity, and compassion.
• Respect and protect patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy; disclose information only for professional purposes that are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of legal rights.

• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge or continuing care. Revise plan of care as needed and appropriately refer for additional services when indicated.
• Document pertinent information, observations and all aspects of patient care clearly, concisely and in a timely manner.
• Maintain equipment and utilize supplies in a safe, cost‑effective manner.
• Participate in and support performance improvement and risk management activities.
• Participate in clinical research activities and demonstrate evidence‑based practice.
• Participate in ongoing regulatory readiness compliance.
• Support hospital‑wide and unit‑specific initiatives (e.g., Planetree, Magnet, Stroke Certification, Joint Certification).
• Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures and standards of care that contribute to the organization’s strategic plan.
• Complete required continuous training and education, including department‑specific requirements.
• Take responsibility for own professional development and actively seek ways to enhance professional knowledge and competence through participation in professional nursing organizations.
• Comply with hospital attendance policy, department staffing policy and rotations.
• Adhere to hospital and department dress code policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.
• Previous experience with adult and pediatric clinical assessments preferred.
