Position: Senior Director, Clinical Operations (Medical/Surgical)

Director-RN

Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities:

- Responsible for more than two clinical departments or programs with greater than 150 FTE's including Nurse Managers and Assistant Nurse Managers

- Responsible for organizational and or nursing strategic plan development and execution

- Responsible for developing, monitoring, and adherence to annual operations and capital budgets for multiple units or departments

- Oversight and or management of interdisciplinary projects and initiatives to meet strategic initiatives and goals

- Responsible for organizational clinical education and professional development across a number of disciplines and manages all clinical affiliations for Nursing

- Responsible for patient experience, quality, regulatory and safety oversight over multiple departments

- Knowledge of federal & state laws and regulations that impact the provision of patient care.

• Knowledge of patient care standards as published by the Joint Commission, CMS, and professional Nursing literature.

• Understand, articulate and ensure compliance with the State Nurse Practice Act, State Board of Nursing regulations, regulatory agency standards and the policies of the Organization.

• Monitor clinical activities to identify both expected and unexpected risks

Education Requirements (Include License, Registration, Certification):

- Registered Nurse with a Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare administration

- Minimum of 8 years of progressive nursing leadership experience

- CT RN License

- ANCC acknowledged Nurse executive certification - preferred
