Overview
Synchrony’s Business Leadership Program Summer Internship is a 10‑week paid assignment in one of our 10 Tracks. During the summer, each BLP Intern is provided project work that is important to our business and is expected to challenge us and contribute to driving innovation.
Internship ExperienceThis internship is for students who want a critical jump start on a career in Sales & Relationship Management, working side by side with our experts to gain valuable hands‑on experience.
What You’ll AccomplishAs a BLP Intern in Sales & Relationship Management you will gain experience in sales, risk, client development, relationship management, customer relationship management, business development, and field sales. Typical activities include:
- Partnering with a Sales Leader to provide reporting and analytical support critical to executing the Sales strategy.
- Focusing on key initiatives that foster growth and profitability of the overall relationship by supporting customer retention projects, compliance initiatives, and communications.
- Partnering with platform business‑development teams to support new deals and assist with sales presentations to prospective Synchrony clients.
- Creating and fostering key client relationships by building sustainable sales goals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proven leadership inside and outside the classroom.
- Strong project‑management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and passion for learning.
- Commitment to excellence, high integrity, and quality.
- Relevant experience or interest in the area of work.
- Passion for sales roles.
- Good presentation skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to lead projects of varying scope.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Inquisitive and able to learn quickly given the steep learning curve.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or a related major.
- Excellent academic record – minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Available for 10 consecutive weeks during June–August.
- Will be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Any offer of employment is conditioned upon successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
- Must satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- Geographic mobility; ability to relocate based on program direction.
