Security Manager, IT Specialist
Role Summary
The Physical Security Operations Analyst supports the Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC) team in ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets at all Synchrony locations. The analyst serves as the main point of contact for intake and escalation of all physical security and crisis management issues. The role monitors real‑time data from access control, alarms, CCTV, travel safety, physical security operations and worldwide news.
The analyst provides enhanced security monitoring, analyzes data, audits findings, and briefs Synchrony’s security management team for appropriate response. Collaboration with information security and fraud teams is integral.
- Monitor and manage all physical security controls (cameras, guards, access controls).
- Process information relevant to security operations efficiently.
- Provide accurate and timely incident reporting.
- Manage the physical security request system.
- Oversee Synchrony Financial Data Center physical security operations.
- Support investigative teams, crisis management events and information security incidents.
- Coordinate guard response through contract guard manager.
- Coordinate maintenance/repair requests on security technology.
- Prepare and disseminate metric reports on physical security and crisis management data.
- Perform quality assurance and review of security technology and procedures.
- Monitor media and weather‑related events for incidents that may impact Synchrony Financial.
- Act as point of contact for crisis management and security incidents, activate teams as appropriate.
- Document and maintain JSOC and guard procedures.
- Daily review and auditing of bank branch security procedures.
- Contribute ideas to improve Joint Security Operations Center business practices.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of security experience in government, law enforcement, or corporate security organization.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal communication, presentation and report‑writing skills.
- Customer‑service and incident‑management skills.
- Ability to research, investigate, compile information, and effectively assess situations.
- Comfortable with a high‑tech work environment and continuous learning of new tools and innovations.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional team.
- Ability to work onsite 2‑3 days per week.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required.
- Strong customer‑service and incident‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation and report‑writing skills.
- Advanced experience in high‑tech environments and continual learning.
Hourly rate range: $25.50 – $35.00 USD per hour. Eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Hybrid work arrangement: 2‑3 days per week onsite at Synchrony locations.
