8 Months Contract
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 p/hr

Role Overview

A large financial services / insurance organization is seeking a contract Access Recertification Campaign Lead to own and execute their annual access recertification program end-to-end using SailPoint. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role — not a leadership or architecture position. The individual will work within a risk, compliance, and GRC function, coordinating closely with an internal SailPoint development team. They will be the single point of accountability for driving the recertification campaign from preparation through audit completion.

Scope: approximately 52 systems and 40,000 entitlements.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Preparation & Configuration

  • Configure access recertification campaigns in SailPoint (scope, approvers, workflows)
  • Coordinate with the IAM/SailPoint development team to load and validate entitlement data
  • Perform UAT validation to confirm campaign readiness prior to launch
  • Confirm completeness of scope, approver lists, and communications
  • Establish tracking, reporting, and documentation structures before launch

Campaign Execution & Management

  • Launch and oversee campaigns in SailPoint; act as central coordination hub
  • Provide regular status reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) on completion rates, aging, and risks
  • Proactively chase down approvers and stakeholders — does not wait on email responses
  • Track and coordinate access removal and remediation tickets from request through closure
  • Triage and manage issues, workflow bottlenecks, and escalations

Documentation & Audit Support

  • Maintain complete, well-organized documentation with full traceability
  • Ensure approver responses are attributable to the correct user with proper chain of custody
  • Validate that removal/de-provisioning tickets are raised, tracked, and closed
  • Support audit requests and follow-up activities through the audit of the recertification cycle

Campaign Completion & Validation

  • Perform post-campaign validation across completion rates, actions taken, and exceptions
  • Execute checklists against compiled documentation
  • Prepare materials for audit review; participate in audit discussions
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in IAM, IT audit, or IT compliance
  • Multiple end-to-end access recertification cycles under belt — has run the full process, not just supported it
  • Strong hands-on SailPoint experience:
  • Building and managing certification/recertification campaigns
  • Understanding of custom vs. standard campaigns and integrated vs. non-integrated systems
  • Proficiency with SailPoint reporting and campaign configuration
  • Compliance and audit mindset — understands what evidence auditors require and how to retain it
  • Comfortable with basic data manipulation and transformation to prepare entitlement data sets
  • Strong organizational skills: can design and maintain structured file and evidence repositories
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Key Attributes
  • Execution-first mindset: recertification is not one of ten priorities, it is the only priority
  • High energy and proactive: does not wait to be chased, chases others
  • Highly organized: builds structure, repositories, and tracking systems from day one
  • Strong communicator with executive presence — comfortable presenting to leadership
  • Collaborative: works within a team but owns the outcome
  • Prior experience working with external auditors in a recertification context
  • Background in GRC or broader IAM (beyond recertification)
  • Familiarity with SOX access control requirements
