Current Opportunity
Traveling Journeyman Electrician – responsible for installing electrical systems in commercial construction markets at job sites and small/medium project locations.
- Direct supervision and coordination of helper/apprentice electricians on a per‑job basis.
- Promote excellent customer relations by interacting with customers, determining their needs, and providing solutions.
- Report to the project worksite on time and ready to work.
- Apply basic electrical and construction principles to solve design, development and modification problems with provided parts and assemblies.
- Complete work in accordance with national and local codes, keeping current with the latest Revision of the NEC.
- Follow company policies and procedures and fulfill daily commitments on the project schedule as directed by the foreman.
- Assist with loading materials, digging trenches, pulling wire through conduit, and other tasks needed to complete the project.
- Treat all customers, other trades personnel, vendors, and fellow workers with dignity and respect.
- Keep the job site clean and clutter‑free during work and before leaving.
- Complete paperwork, including timecards, and turn them in when required.
- Know, follow, and hold others accountable to the safety policy, program and training of CESG.
- Troubleshoot common electrical systems, including services, feeders, and branch circuits.
- Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
- Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completing future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
- Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
- Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric ranges or motors, and install grounding leads.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Repair faulty equipment or systems.
- Travel is a must.
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Four years of experience in electrical project installations.
- Ability to work with hands and multi‑task.
- Advanced electrical knowledge required.
- Reliable transportation and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license with a clear driving record.
- Willingness to learn and develop electrical skills.
