Sheet Metal Installer (Prevailing Wage Project) – Stamford, CT
Location: Stamford, Connecticut
Job Type: Full-Time (Project-Based / Contract)
Compensation: Prevailing Wage (per Connecticut Department of Labor) + Fringe Benefits
Job Overview
We are actively hiring experienced Sheet Metal Installers for a prevailing wage project in Stamford, CT. This role focuses on the installation of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems on commercial and/or public works projects. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with duct installation, understands job site safety, and can work efficiently in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems (rectangular, round, and spiral)
- Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components according to project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and job site plans
- Install hangers, supports, and duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards
- Seal and insulate ductwork as required
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on site
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and project requirements
- Follow all prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Requirements
- 3+ years of sheet metal or HVAC duct installation experience
- Experience working on commercial or public works (prevailing wage) jobs strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Strong knowledge of duct installation methods and materials
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
- Ability to work at heights and lift 50+ lbs
- Reliable transportation to Stamford, CT job site
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Compensation & Benefits
- Prevailing wage rates in accordance with CT Department of Labor
- Fringe benefits package (health, pension, or cash equivalent depending on project requirements)

- Pay range: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour
