Sheet Metal Installer (Prevailing Wage Project) – Stamford, CT

Job Overview

We are actively hiring experienced Sheet Metal Installers for a prevailing wage project in Stamford, CT. This role focuses on the installation of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems on commercial and/or public works projects. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with duct installation, understands job site safety, and can work efficiently in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems (rectangular, round, and spiral)
• Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components according to project specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and job site plans
• Install hangers, supports, and duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards
• Seal and insulate ductwork as required
• Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on site
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and project requirements
• Follow all prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Requirements

• 3+ years of sheet metal or HVAC duct installation experience
• Experience working on commercial or public works (prevailing wage) jobs strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Strong knowledge of duct installation methods and materials
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred)
• Ability to work at heights and lift 50+ lbs
• Reliable transportation to Stamford, CT job site
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits

• Prevailing wage rates in accordance with CT Department of Labor
