Position summaryWe are looking to immediately hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator, Laborer, and CDL Driver. This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role for someone who can operate machinery, drive, contribute as a laborer, and help keep our job sites running smoothly. The ideal candidate has real construction experience, takes pride in their work, and brings a dependable, can-do attitude to the team every day.
You will work on job sites across Fairfield and Westchester counties.
Responsibilities- Operate excavators, skid steers, lulls, backhoes, and other heavy equipment for site work including digging, grading, trenching, and back filling.
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials, debris, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Contribute as a laborer to support crews and keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain and service equipment and machinery, and perform light maintenance as needed.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues promptly.
- Load, secure, and unload materials safely and in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and help execute project tasks alongside the on-site team.
- Work safely and respectfully on active, high-end residential properties, with care for the client’s home and surroundings.
- Maintain accurate inspection, test, and equipment documentation.
- CDL Class A License (preferred).
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, lulls, and backhoes.
- Experience as a laborer and driver in a construction setting.
- Ability to maintain, service, and perform light maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Familiarity with CT DOT and industry standards and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail in inspections, tests, and documentation.
- Proficiency using relevant tools.
- Able to perform the physical demands of the role—lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Must pass drug testing, motor vehicle license check, and background check.
