The Water Treatment Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Stamford, CT. This role is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining commercial, industrial, and residential water treatment systems, including filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, and disinfection equipment. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine water system service, submersible pump installations, booster pump installations, water storage tanks, water testing, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and conducting preventive and corrective maintenance.
The technician will document test results, maintain service records, follow safety and regulatory compliance procedures, and communicate clearly with customers and team members about system status and service needs. The role may involve field visits, equipment calibrations, and occasional support for wastewater treatment processes as required.
- Strong technical skills in water testing and water treatment, including familiarity with filtration, softening, and disinfection systems.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and the ability to support related system operations when needed.
- Solid analytical skills to interpret water quality data, diagnose system issues, and recommend effective solutions.
- Clear and professional communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and vendors, and for documenting service activities.
- Experience with basic mechanical, plumbing, or electrical work related to water treatment equipment is beneficial. Ideal candidate to have a valid J-2 or P-2 Plumbing license
- Understanding of safety protocols, regulatory standards, and best practices in potable and wastewater treatment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or coursework in water treatment, environmental science, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site, lift and handle equipment as needed, and travel locally to customer locations in and around Fairfield County.
